If you live in a condo, you might have seen a quarrel between your condo security guards and food delivery riders.
But it won’t escalate to a physical fight; the worst is probably wasted bubble tea.
However, a physical fight has been captured online instead.
Security Guard & Food Delivery Rider Caught Fighting Physically for Nearly 2 Minutes
On 31 October, a scuffle between a food delivery rider and a security guard erupted at Springdale Condominium, located on Hindhede Walk off Upper Bukit Timah Road.
The incident, which took place at around 3 pm, was caught on camera by a resident and later circulated widely on social media.
In a nearly two-minute video uploaded to both TikTok and later re-uploaded to Facebook, the altercation between the delivery rider and the security guard can be seen escalating in the condominium car park.

The footage starts with the guard and the delivery rider already engaged in a physical confrontation. The rider, appearing to attempt to evade the guard, flails his arms as the guard presses forward, occasionally pushing him back.
At one point, the guard points to something off-camera, but the rider moves to walk away, only for the guard to pursue him closely.
The situation intensifies as the guard corners the rider near the condominium’s garbage bins.
There, the guard attempts to restrain the rider by locking his arms behind his back, leading to a struggle that ends with both men tumbling to the ground.
Although the rider manages to stand up first, the guard, still on the ground, clings onto his arm in a final attempt to stop him from leaving.
Ultimately, the rider breaks free, mounts his bicycle, and rides away with the guard following briefly on foot.
Authorities Respond and Investigate Incident
Shin Min Daily News managed to speak to the person who recorded the confrontation.
He explained that he witnessed the clash after hearing loud noises outside his window and shared that the guard had reportedly refused to let the delivery rider enter the estate to complete a food delivery.
It’s, however, unknown whether the guard had refused to let his bicycle enter the estate, or the rider himself. In some condos, riders have to park their bicycles at the entrance of the condo, and deliver the food on foot.
The police confirmed that they received a call for assistance regarding the incident.
A 59-year-old man, presumed to be the security guard, sustained minor injuries but declined medical assistance at the scene.
Security Association Emphasizes Professional Conduct
In response to the incident, the Deputy President of the Security Association Singapore (SAS), stressed the importance of professional conduct among security personnel in such situations.
She highlighted that security staff are expected to handle confrontational incidents with professionalism and to follow the guidelines provided by condominium management.
The SAS has taken preventive steps by distributing posters to guardhouses across various estates to encourage amicable relations between security staff and visitors, aiming to avoid similar incidents in the future.
The association has also reminded security guards to maintain respectful interactions with the public and exercise restraint in managing conflicts.
