What’s your perfect partner like? This forummer started a thread to ask for advice for his “friend”, whose girlfriend seemed almost perfect. Take a look at his story.
Here’s what he wrote if you can’t read it:
I got a friend whose gf is like this…
A little background first, my friend works as a programmer in SME earn $2.8k/month. His girlfriend works as an accounts manager in a bank earn $6k/month.
Everytime he go out with her, she will offer to pay for everything and take out her Citi Prestige card or black AMEX to pay for everything even though he might want to pay for her. Then everyday other day she will transfer him money from few hundred to thousands in case he not enough money to eat his 3 meals… I heard she stay in landed property and my friend stay over at her house before.
Recently the girl say she wanna get married and settle down but my friend being a poor programmer couldn’t afford it. So she say she will pay for everything and all he need to do is to attend wedding with her.
I feel happy for my friend that he got such a nice girlfriend but he tell me it is not what he wanted at all.. Do you think my friend is siaolang? What do you think of this kind of girlfriend?
I saw the girlfriend once.. Looks decent ang moh orientated kind of girl.. not bui bui definitely.
Super rich? Check. Young? Check. Really attached and in love? Double check.
Seriously, calling this girl filthy rich is like calling a landfill “just a little rubbish bin”.
The only problem seems to be that the friend was having qualms about a marriage like that.
Needless to say, there were a lot of comments immediately following this story. Half of which were variations of the standard response to unbelievable stories (CSB): Cool Story Bro.
Another helpful forummer even explained why the story was absolutely unbelievable.
The rest, however, elected to respond as if the story was true. You hardly ever see any forum agreeing on a matter, but there was a consensus here. Go for the marriage, or you’re just dumb.
Really, the story seems too good to be true. The girl in the story is basically the perfect girlfriend, with a great job, landed property, and she was apparently from RJC to SMU to boot! Unsurprisingly, many forummers expressed their envy at the friend’s good fortune.
Unfortunately (or is it fortunately?), the story seems rather likely to be fake. According to another forummer, the OP had faked stories before, and was exposed once.
In any case, this story does make you wonder what you should value in a relationship, and the role money should play, as well as the gender roles in a couple that doesn’t come up very often.
Because yeah, it’s a CSB, but the underlying theme, and responses, are pretty deep.
Since you’re here, why not watch a video about a guy who lodged a Police report here in Singapore because he was friendzoned? Seriously. Here, watch it and do remember to share it (and also subscribe to Goody Feed YouTube channel)!
