Whenever someone here contracts COVID-19, it seems like the virus is determined to bring its host to the most crowded places in the country, such as eateries and shopping malls.
I guess the coronavirus enjoys shopping and eating as much as we do.
But now it seems that the virus has a new hobby, a new place to go to once it finds a host: gyms.
And boy, does it like gyms.
Infectious COVID-19 Cases Visited Gym at Ngee Ann City Over 10 Times in 2 Wks
Several locations were added to the Ministry of Health’s (MOH) list of places visited by infectious COVID-19 patients on Thursday (1 Apr).
One of them was the Pure Fitness gym at Ngee Ann City mall along Orchard Road, which was visited 10 times over a period of two weeks.
The gym had been visited by infectious COVID-19 cases at the following times:

Some eateries in shopping malls were also added to MOH’s list, including Sushi Tei at Raffles City Shopping Centre and Akashi restaurant at Paragon mall.
These locations were visited at the following times:
- Akashi restaurant at Paragon mall on 20 March between 7.10pm and 8.30pm, 23 March between 8.10pm and 9.15pm, 26 March between 9.10pm and 10.15pm

No Need to Avoid These Places
Today, you were supposed to meet a friend for lunch at Sushi Tei in Raffles City, then head to the Pure Fitness gym at Ngee Ann City for a workout before visiting Facial Body Care for some pampering.
But after reading this article, you’ve cancelled all your plans and decided to stay at home for the next 2 months.
What many people don’t get, however, is that this list isn’t meant to warn the public against visiting these places.
Every time a place is added to the list, the National Environmental Agency (NEA) will work with management to clean and disinfect the area.
Rather, this list is meant to inform those who visited these places to monitor their health for the next couple of weeks.
If you develop symptoms of acute respiratory infection (such as cough, sore throat and runny nose), as well as fever and loss of taste or smell, you should seek medical attention promptly.
