COVID-19 is disruptive in many ways, from cutting out travel from our lives to restricting our movements. In fact, some of us have not stepped outside of our homes thanks to COVID-19.
Unfortunately, COVID-19 has done it again, and this time, it has reached Singapore football captain, Hariss Harun.
S’pore Football Captain Tested Positive for COVID-19 & Will Miss 2 International Matches
Haiss Harun, Singapore Men’s national team captain, has tested positive for COVID-19. He was detected through a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test earlier this week.
The Lions captain has self-isolated and his condition will be monitored. Due to this situation, he will not be attending the upcoming 10-day training camp in Dubai, where the Lions are scheduled to play two international friendlies.

The rest of the team and backroom staff undergone and returned negative Antigen Rapid Test (ART) results on a daily basis.
The contingent has also undertaken the pre-departure PCR test yesterday (6 Nov). They were all cleared for the travel to Dubai tomorrow (8 Nov).
All necessary measures will be taken by the FAS to ensure the health and safety of the National Team as they prepare for the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup 2020 which will be held from 5 Dec to 1 Jan 2022. The tournament will be staged in Singapore.
Balestier Khalsa Player Tested Positive
Previously, a Balestier Khalsa footballer was tested positive for COVID-19. Upon the detection of his infection, the league suspended Balestier Khalsa’s fixtures against Hougang United and Geylang International.
The training was suspended for 10 days as well and the rest of the squad were self-isolated.
Their club premises went through deep cleaning too. Venue operators at Toa Payoh Stadium and Jalan Besar Stadium were notified of the positive case so that deep cleaning could commence then.
That unfaithful week, two Singapore Premier League (SPL) players were tested positive. The Balestier Khalsa player was the second to be detected.
The first player was from Geylang International. Both the players were detected through the same mandatory weekly pooled testing, and similar precautions were taken for the first players and their team as well.
As of today, the Balestier Khalsa is active once more in the esports Singapore Premier League stage where they compete with the Young Lions in the grand final.
