There’s no doubt that our frontline healthcare staff are the worst hit of us all since they are the ones spearheading the battle against COVID-19.
What’s worse is that there have been rumours going around that healthcare workers spotted in their uniforms on public transport are drawing flak from fellow commuters.
They definitely deserve this treat:
4 S’pore Halal Restaurants Got Together To Donate Over 4,300 Packets of Food To Healthcare Workers
Four halal restaurants have joined forces to donate food to the healthcare workers on 17 February at Block 6 of Singapore General Hospital (SGH).
According to Berita Mediacorp, Rumah Makan Minang, Hjh Maimunah, Positano and Kinamaya were kind enough to donate curry puffs, samosas, boxes of pasta and packets of chicken rice to over 100 lucky healthcare workers from SGH.
There aren’t just any normal restaurants though, these are some very popular halal restaurants in Singapore and they were kind enough to share their delicious food.
Senior Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Health, Amrin Amin was present to help give away the food to the healthcare workers.
More importantly, he emphasised the need to rally behind our frontline healthcare workers and show them support since they play a vital role in Singapore’s battle against the COVID-19.
He told Berita Mediacorp, “Today, it is admirable to see Singaporeans united as one, supporting and encouraging one another in times of crisis. I am proud that our Malay entrepreneurs from Rumah Makan Minang, Hjh Maimunah, Positano and Kinamaya have spent their time and energies to making the SGH healthcare workers feel happy and appreciated.”
Healthcare Workers Not Treated Right
He also took to Facebook to share with his followers that he acknowledged that there were rumours that some weren’t treating the healthcare workers right:
“We heard about the disgraceful way some people treated our healthcare workers recently. We know for certain that such people are a minority, a very tiny minority.”
He also encouraged Singaporeans to show their support:
“Many are stepping forward to appreciate and care for our frontliners. The best of Singapore is showing – shining, glowing, beaming.”
