We have probably all experienced some form of a nightmare that has jolted us awake full of cold sweat.
But what happens when that nightmare becomes a reality?
Elevator Going Down Non-existent Floors
On Saturday (19 Mar), a man posted a video on TikTok showing that the lift he was in was going down from level 25 to 29 in a 16-storey HDB block at Pasir Ris.
Hold on, there’s something not quite right there?
Yes, in fact, there are two things that went wrong.
Firstly, the block only had 16 floors, so we have no idea where the 25th to 29th floor came from.
Secondly, the lift showed that it was going down when the numbers were actually increasing.
Shivers. Sounds like somewhere we don’t want to go.
If you don’t believe it, you can watch the video right here.

A check with Google Maps showed that Block 746 Pasir Ris Street 71 is indeed a 16-storey building.
Well, that definitely leaves us all wondering “where he going eh”.
Netizens Respond
In just two days, the video has garnered over 600,000 views and over 86,000 shares.
Many viewers also commented on the video with most exclaiming the obvious that the man was going up while going down.
Others said the man was on his way to another universe while some said he was going towards heaven.
One commenter said “Hellevator” while others reinforced the idea by saying the man was on his way to level 29 of Hell.
We sure hope not.
Many also commented that the scene was something that had appeared in their nightmares, where they were stuck in a lift that kept moving endlessly to nowhere.

Has Not Responded Since
The man in the video has not left any updates since the video was posted, sparking many theories.
Commenters asked if the man was still alive, noting that a significant amount of time has passed and he still has not said anything.
Freeze frames show that the lift might have been stationary all along as seen through the windows, but that could have been an illusion as well.
Regardless, we hope the man is safe and sound and not stuck in an eternally travelling lift or transported to another universe.
