Gone were the days where you have to travel high and low to search for gourmet food. Now, you can even get them at your hipster kopitiam next door! Located at Bukit Merah Lane one, this coffee shop houses countless renowned food brands – Two Wings, Immanuel French Kitchen, etc that are bound to tickle your taste buds with the delightful dishes served. Here, you can enjoy having these exquisite dishes without the unnecessary GST or service charges to cut your wallets some slack. This particular coffee shop also houses Jack Ripper, a modern casual burger concept named after one of the worst serial killers that serves up a mean burger – pun intended.
Every burger at Jack Ripper comes served in an intricate-looking basket with a cup of French Fries. They are currently throwing in a FREE White Chocolate / Dark Chocolate Milkshake with every gourmet burger purchased! (Available daily except Mondays, for lunch and dinner)
Ripper’s Classic Burger – S$16
(All Natural Beef, Jack’s Sauce, Cheddar Cheese, Romaine Lettuce, Tomato & Onion)
The beef patty was well marinated and grilled to perfection! Though it was paired with all the classic ingredients, it allowed the beef patty to stand out wholly which was definitely a smart move. Like they say – if you got it, flaunt it! Look at dem cheese too!!
 Feta Beast – S$22
(Spice-infused Lamb Burger, Feta Cheese, Tzatziki Sauce, Lettuce, Tomato and Baby Arugula)
Not sure if the beef burger stole too much of the limelight, but I felt that the lamb patty was a tad dry. Still, the use of feta cheese brought an amazing tangy flavour to the burger. They literally used little cubes of feta cheese in the burger and S$22 for that? Well, that’s pretty affordable to me! My lunch date was a fan of this burger!
From the right: Dark Chocolate Milkshake & White Chocolate Milkshake
Both our milkshakes had pieces of brownie cubes in them. And my advice for drinking this? Forget about all dem calories and just slurp away! My favourite was definitely the Dark Chocolate Milkshake as it balanced out the sweetness from the drink, whereas the White Chocolate Milkshake was a little too sweet for us! Still, if you’re dining with a friend, I would recommend you to order both so you can give them all a try!
