Heartwrenching Photos Of Dog Refusing To Leave Dead Owner’s Side Show Why Dogs Are Our BFFs

If you are blessed to have a dog at home, you most likely wouldn’t understand the struggles I faced (still am by the way).

Like most children, I grew up having a soft spot for dogs because they are not only adorable, but they will always be there for you through thick and thin.

Unfortunately, I could only admire dogs along the street or through a computer screen because my parents are strongly against the idea of having a dog at home – my dad had a bad experience dealing with the passing of his dog in the past while my mum was traumatized after getting bit by one.

Once in a while, my brother and I would try our luck to ask for permission to get one, only to receive the same reply, “You can do that when you get your own house”.

As such, I was elated when I found out my boyfriend had a dog. Honestly, he’s my greatest motivation for the one-hour journey to Punggol. I used to be scared of hyper-active dogs somehow but thanks to him, I got used to it eventually.

And this story has made me crave for a dog ever more.

Dog remains loyal to dead owner

According to Daily Mail, a man by the name of Victor Reyna Vazquez met with an unfortunate train accident in Mexico on 5 April. The dog was found to be lying beside his owner, protecting him from everyone, proving that dogs are truly a man’s best friend. Unfortunately, it had to be removed forcefully for the authorities to do their job.

Locals claimed that Victor was an alcoholic and was often seen with his loyal dog in tow throughout the years.

Upon hearing of the news, a netizen by the name of Marychuy Zamarron wrote online, “We have a lot of things to learn from animals, and now I wonder who is more animalistic, them or us.”, as reported by Daily Mail.

Pretty sure this story would remind you of this:

Cue the waterworks.

I love animals in general but clearly, dogs are my favorite.

This is why I detest people who mistreat dogs – the animals who have nothing but love for those they cross paths with.

The effects of dog abuse

I follow an influencer named Weylie who adopted a previously abused dog. According to her videos posted on YouTube, it took a long time for the animal to regain trust with her because she was badly shaken by her abuser in the past. This means that like humans, animals’ feelings are not to be taken lightly.

According to Wag!, “dogs will remember extremely positive and extremely negative events… and will avoid something that frightens him for his lifetime.”

In addition, dogs who have experienced abused tend to exhibit the following signs: mistrust, social withdrawal, physical inactivity, and depression.

But dogs that have become your BFF?

It’ll be like Victor’s dog: loyal overloaded.
