Nails not only serve as a form of protection for our fingers, it is also a form of accessory for most girls. Manicures always come out best if your nails are polished and well-shaped. However, in our typical daily living, how often should we cut our nails?
Well, the answer is, depending on the type of your nails, the activities that you do daily, and what do you intend to do with your nails.
Brittle nails
If you have brittle nails, the advice is to keep it as short as possible. This also means that you probably have to cut it more often than normal people. Well, this is to prevent your nails from chipping off in the middle of the day. While chipping off does not hurt, it can affect the growth of your nails in the long run.
Fans of manicure
If you intend to do manicure, then you’ll probably have to cut it less often. Longer nails are always better for manicures. However, that also means that you should spend more time polishing, cleaning your nails than usual to prevent it from collecting dirt.
Occupation
If you work in a labour intensive industry, or in areas where personal hygiene is kept to the strictest standards, then you’ll have to cut your nails regularly. Can you imagine working in an area where you have to carry many things, yet keeping long nails? You long nails will just break eventually. Also, you should keep your nails short if you’re working in places where there is very strict standards about personal hygiene. Your nails should not be allowed to collect dirt and it shouldn’t chip off easily too.
