Whenever you go to the movies, you’ll have to make one of the toughest decisions in your life: salted or sweet popcorn?
I’ll say salted, regardless of whether you like salted or sweet.

Wait, before you throw any rotten eggs at me, read on first.
In a study done in the UK, 46% of the people prefer sweet popcorns, with 15% preferring salted popcorn. The rest either prefer them equally or simply hate popcorn.
In other words, it’s clear that sweet popcorn is the winner, though in recent years, cinemas in Singapore have started to sell more unique flavours.
Now, to the next point: popcorn is considered a healthy snack provided there isn’t any butter or salt. But without butter or salt, it’ll taste so bland that you’d rather eat army cookhouse’s broccolis.
Therefore, both versions are equally unhealthy: one is filled with sugar while the other with salt.
Of course, if you’re looking to lose weight, the salted ones are better due to the lower calories. But that’s not the point: the point is, usually, when we watch a movie, we’ll watch it with a group of friends or with your bae, right?
This is when your preference can decide whether your popcorn will last till the end of the commercials or halfway through the movie.
People Hate Salted Popcorn So They Won’t Share
Now, if we choose salted popcorn, what does it mean? There’s a lower chance of your friends or your bae grabbing your popcorn (remember, only 15% prefer salted popcorn).

However, what if you hate salted popcorn, too? Do you have to suffer just because you’re selfish?
No worries; you’re not enjoying the movie when you’re having the popcorn, too, because you’d have to order it this way: “1/4 salted on top, 3/4 below.”
By the time the movie starts, your sweet popcorn would be ready for you to enjoy as well.
However, the trick is that your friends or bae must think that your entire tub is filled with salted popcorn so they won’t grab yours during the movie.
Pretty smart, right?
