Incident Captured on Video
The victim’s brother, Mr. Huang (name transliterated from Mandarin), 26, informed Shin Min Daily News that his 27-year-old brother was returning home from the gym when the accident occurred.
The video footage they obtained clearly shows the motorcycle changing from the fourth lane to the third lane, while a black car was travelling in the second lane.
About 10 seconds later, the black car suddenly switched to the third lane and collided with the motorcycle.
“My brother was knocked to the ground, while his motorcycle flew to the first lane and stopped only after hitting the crash barrier. My brother was too shocked to move at that moment,” said Mr. Huang.
The video shows the black car continuing to drive for some distance after the impact. The footage has been handed over to authorities as evidence in the ongoing investigation.
Injuries and Aftermath
Mr. Huang said some kind drivers stopped to help contact the police and ambulance, which eventually transported his brother to the hospital.
Photos provided by Mr. Huang show his brother’s left arm in a cast and both feet wrapped in bandages.
He also sustained abrasions to multiple parts of his body, including his back and thighs. The injuries, while not life-threatening, will require weeks of recovery and physical therapy.
