The nation may be getting acclimatised to COVID-19, but it appears that businesses are still biting the dust.
Though thankfully in this case, it’s on a temporary basis.
Nasi Padang Restaurant Temporarily Closes Outlets; Asks Customers To Monitor Their Health
Just yesterday (20 September 2021), Hjh Maimunah Restaurant & Catering, which specialises in Nasi Padang and was recently inducted into the Michelin Bib Gourmand list for 2021, posted a rather disheartening update on their Facebook page.
In the post, they announced that all affiliated outlets have been closed on a temporary basis, due to a “covid-related incident” in one of their outlets.
The outlet in question was not specified. They have two outlets at Jalan Pisang and Joo Chiat.
As a safety measure, the chain will be closing for “deep cleaning and disinfecting”, in a bid to protect their customers and employees.
They have also implored recent customers to watch their health statuses.
Pre-Orders Cancelled & Refunds Will Be Made
Meanwhile, pre-orders will supposedly be cancelled and refunded, as the chain seeks to clean up accordingly.
They will also not be taking any orders for now.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and will see you soon!” Hjh Maimunah Restaurant & Catering wrote.
“Stay safe and we thank you for your continuous support.”

Netizens’ Reactions
Netizens have also expressed curiosity in the affected outlet in question.
“Please let us know which outlet,” one Netizen wrote. “As we just went to the one in Jalan pisang on Saturday.”
Another has also asked about the exact reason behind the chain’s temporary closure.
“Is this related to contact tracing or not following SOP(?)” the Netizen asked.
Meanwhile, if you’re absolutely craving Nasi Padang, you can try out these nine other restaurants here.
They may not have a Michelin mantle to boast, but they could well give even Hjh Maimunah a serious run for its money.
