Have you ever shopped at Charles and Keith? Or at the very least followed your girlfriend/sister/mother/wife into Charles and Keith?

My guess is yes, and it’s no surprise. Charles & Keith is a Singaporean brand that’s lovingly supported by both locals and people all over the world.

They always offer the latest styles and are priced reasonably. To reiterate, it’s not just Singaporeans who have become devoted fans of the brand.

Homegrown Brand Charles & Keith So Popular in China A China Company Actually Copied It

Let me explain. According to MSNews, in China, there is a fanbase for Charles and Keith as well that goes by the name 小CK, which means ‘little CK’.

The brand is so popular in China that perhaps that’s the reason why a copycat store appeared like a wild Pokemon:

Cherlss what now?

If I didn’t know better, I would’ve thought that someone was typing Charles & Keith with their eyes closed.

Let me try to close my eyes and type it now: charkes & ketih.

Well, close enough.

In all seriousness, the copycat brand in China is named Cherlss & Keich and is located in Guangzhou. I kid you not.

Shop Name & Design Are Almost Identical

Even the visual of the shop’s name features a similar white font on top of a black backdrop.

And the inside of the store, in terms of colour scheme and design looks almost identical.

Just look at Charles & Keith’s interior above versus Cherlss & Keich below:

Or maybe we’re scrutinising too hard and that Cherlss & Keich isn’t a copycat brand of Charles & Keith.

I mean, that is a possibility….

Regardless of all of that, here’s a warning to all my fellow Singaporeans who happen to be travelling to China soon.

If you spot a Cherlss & Keich outlet while you’re in Guangzhou, do note that it’s not a China edition of Charles & Keith in Singapore.

These are two separate shops selling their own set of products, just fyi.
