Every day, we get closer and closer to our target for vaccinations. Now, we just need one final push.
While 75% of our population has been fully vaccinated, many seniors have yet to receive a jab, and the authorities are doing everything they can to encourage more to get their shots.
Now, those who successfully persuade seniors to get vaccinated will be entitled to a small financial reward.
HPB Giving S$30 Vouchers to People Who Successfully Refer Unvaccinated Seniors Above 60YO for COVID-19 Vaccination
The Health Promotion Board (HPB) has launched a new programme that will reward those who refer unvaccinated seniors aged 60 and above for COVID-19 vaccinations.
Under the “Let’s Get Our Seniors Vaccinated” programme, referrers will receive a S$30 e-voucher.
The program, which was launched on Friday (13 Aug), will run until 30 Nov.
In order to qualify for the reward, just follow these three simple steps:
Step 1 – Pre-register online at least one to two days before the date of the elderly person’s vaccination (a confirmation SMS will be sent to referrers within two days)
Step 2 – Accompany the seniors to vaccination centres when they’re getting their shots
Step 3 – Create a profile on the HPB’s Healthy 365 app, as the e-voucher will be credited there
Do note that the referred senior must not have received any COVID-19 vaccine shots prior to the date of pre-registration for the programme.
Seniors who have recovered from COVID-19 can also participate in the programme, but they only need one dose.
Referrers have to be 17 and above, and must be Singaporean, a PR, an employment pass holder, or a work permit holder to be eligible.
The e-voucher will only be credited to their accounts once the seniors are fully vaccinated.
Participants can refer up to 10 seniors. However, each senior can only have one referrer.
Each e-voucher is valid for 90 days and can be used at supermarkets, F&B establishments, pharmacies, and various other merchants.
115,000 Seniors 60 & Above Remain Unvaccinated
As of Thursday (12 Aug), 84% of the population aged 60 and above have been fully vaccinated.
This is a high percentage, but more than 115,000 seniors in this age group are yet to receive their shots.
“It is important that seniors get vaccinated against COVID-19 as they are the most vulnerable group and are at higher risk of becoming seriously ill, if infected. Taking the COVID-19 vaccine helps seniors to protect themselves and their loved ones,” HPB said on the HealthHub website.
“Some seniors are hesitant about vaccination because they may not be familiar with the importance and benefits of vaccination or have concerns about receiving vaccination. Let’s encourage our seniors to be vaccinated and provide the support they need.”
Interested? Well, encourage a senior to get vaccinated and fill out the pre-registration form here.
