Following recent news that Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have parted ways, another long-standing couple in the entertainment industry is calling it quits.
After 27 years of marriage, Hugh Jackman, best known for his iconic portrayal of Wolverine in the X-Men series, is reportedly separating from his wife Deborra-Lee Furness.
Wolverine Star Hugh Jackman to Separate from Actress Deborra-Lee Furness
Jackman, 54, met fellow actress Deborra-Lee Furness in 1995 on the set of an Australian TV series, Corelli.
Furness was already a celebrated actress, while Jackman was a budding talent from drama school. Their whirlwind romance led them to tie the knot less than a year later.
Speaking to People magazine, the former couple shared that they have been blessed with nearly three decades of marriage but have decided to go their separate ways to pursue individual growth.
Furness and Jackman have two children together. Their statement requests that fans and the media respect their privacy during this transitional period.
The statement signed ‘Deb and Hugh Jackman’ clarified that this would be the only public statement either of them would make concerning their separation.
Former Couple Recently Celebrated 27 Years of Marriage
