It hasn’t been looking too good for the Hollywood couple scene.

In the ever-changing landscape of Hollywood relationships, not all love stories get their fairytale endings.

Following recent news that Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have parted ways, another long-standing couple in the entertainment industry is calling it quits.

After 27 years of marriage, Hugh Jackman, best known for his iconic portrayal of Wolverine in the X-Men series, is reportedly separating from his wife Deborra-Lee Furness.

Wolverine Star Hugh Jackman to Separate from Actress Deborra-Lee Furness

Jackman, 54, met fellow actress Deborra-Lee Furness in 1995 on the set of an Australian TV series, Corelli.

Furness was already a celebrated actress, while Jackman was a budding talent from drama school. Their whirlwind romance led them to tie the knot less than a year later.

Speaking to People magazine, the former couple shared that they have been blessed with nearly three decades of marriage but have decided to go their separate ways to pursue individual growth.

Furness and Jackman have two children together. Their statement requests that fans and the media respect their privacy during this transitional period.

The statement signed ‘Deb and Hugh Jackman’ clarified that this would be the only public statement either of them would make concerning their separation.

Former Couple Recently Celebrated 27 Years of Marriage

Ironically, the pair recently celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary in April.

Jackman took to Instagram on 11 April to celebrate this significant milestone in their relationship.

Their last public appearance was at the Met Gala on 1 May, followed by their attendance at the men’s finals at Wimbledon, one of the most prestigious tennis tournaments in the world, held in July.

Through this mature and amicable approach to their separation, the couple hopes to set a respectful tone as they embark on new chapters of their lives.

Jackman’s Impact on Hollywood

Jackman rose to global prominence by portraying Wolverine in the X-Men series.

He has also shown remarkable versatility with roles in musicals like Les Misérables and dramas such as the 2006 film, The Prestige.

Off-screen, he’s known for his philanthropic work, including his endeavours with the Laughing Man Foundation, which supports coffee farming communities.

Jackman will star in the upcoming film Ferrari, an exploration of the legendary Italian sports car brand. The film stars other actors, including Adam Driver and Penélope Cruz, and is set to release later this year.

He will also reprise his role as Wolverine in Deadpool 3, which stars Ryan Reynolds.
