Husband Finds Wife Naked with Lover in Car, Injured When Lover Drives Off in Sengkang

A Sengkang man suffered multiple injuries after confronting his wife and her lover in a multi-storey car park.

The incident occurred when the lover in question, 50-year-old Chia Hiok Seah, allegedly drove off while the husband was on the car hood.

The case went to court on 1 Jul 2025, with the injured husband Wu Yongsheng testifying as the first witness.

Wu knew Chia before the incident occurred. Chia was a friend of Wu’s wife and often chatted with her.

Wu told the court that Chia “often harassed” his wife through their friendship.

Husband Discovers Wife and Lover Naked in Car Park

Wu Yongsheng went to the Block 278 Compassvale Bow multi-storey car park in Sengkang at around 2:13am on 29 Jun 2024. He was searching for his wife after she failed to return home that night.

Wu recognised Chia’s licence plate number in the parking lot. Chia had previously driven Wu’s wife home.

Suspicious of the situation, Wu decided to record video evidence. He stood near the car for some time before starting to film.

As Wu moved closer to the vehicle, he discovered that both occupants were completely naked inside.

Wu attempted to open the car door but failed. He demanded that both individuals exit the vehicle, but they refused.

When Wu noticed Chia attempting to drive away, he climbed onto the car hood to prevent their escape.

Chia ignored Wu’s presence and continued to accelerate the vehicle. Wu lost his balance and fell from the hood as the car moved forward.

The fall caused Wu to suffer multiple abrasions on his face, hands, knees, and chest, with most injuries concentrated on the left side of his body.

He was in severe pain immediately afterwards, and blood was visible on his face, shoulders, and hands.

Wu called an ambulance immediately. He underwent surgery a few hours later at around 6am on 29 Jun 2024.

Wu requested that paramedics and hospital nurses photograph his injuries. He wanted documentation to prove the extent of his wounds and that they were not self-inflicted.

He also took additional photos of himself as evidence.

Wu filed a police report after being hospitalised for his injuries. When asked why he did not call the police immediately, Wu explained he prioritised saving himself due to the severity of his injuries.

Ongoing Pain

The incident resulted in Wu receiving 14 days of sick leave from work. He later returned to the hospital to have his stitches removed.

During recovery, Wu experienced ongoing pain in his toes and felt discomfort when walking for long periods.

He also has visible scars on his face from the incident and attended follow-up medical appointments until October 2024.

Wu’s injuries prevented him from performing strenuous exercises following the incident.

Chia Hiok Seah faces two charges in total. The first charge involves causing hurt through rash conduct. The second charge falls under the Miscellaneous Offences (Public Order and Nuisance) Act for being naked in a public place.

Chia pleaded not guilty to the rash conduct charge but pleaded guilty to the public nudity charge.
