It’s not often that a new credit card would generate so much hype, so when this one got into the headlines, it’s no surprise that there must be something interesting—or something that make people go “WTF”.
In come UOB’s YOLO card, a credit card marketed towards people between 26 to 35.

Well, on first glance, it just seems like yet another credit card with lots of benefits and rebates. It looks so youthful that even the card looks refreshing: the credit card numbers are laid out in a 4-by-4 stack, which supposedly makes online shopping easier (why arh?).
Okay, cool…but hold on a second. YOLO? YOLO!? You Only Live Once? The last I know, to be YOLO, you live in the moment and ignore the consequences. Yes, I fall into target audience, and sure I believe in YOLO, but YOLO on a credit card?
It’s the last thing I want.
To me, YOLO on a credit card means swiping it whenever I want to, because YOLO. To me, YOLO on a credit card means getting cash advance whenever I’m short of cash, because YOLO. To me, YOLO on a credit card means I’ll offer to pay for all my friends’ meal with my credit card, because YOLO.
I can YOLO on anything, but credit card? No, thanks.
While the idea is good, I just don’t get it: why YOLO a credit card? And when I read the comments on Straits Times Facebook Page about this card, I guess I’m not the only one thinking of this.

I like UOB, but no, I don’t like UOB YOLO card. That One card is good enough, thank you.
Would you be jailed for being half-naked in public? Well, the answer will shock you. Seriously. Watch this to the end and you'll understand:
