There’re some people who claimed that they’ve been gaming since they could talk, but unless you’ve played this before, you’ll never be considered a pioneer gamer.
Okay, while this isn’t the oldest game in history, it’s a game that many would have started with. Are you ready for the name of this game? Here goes.
It’s Pong Zork.
Released in 1980, when Windows didn’t even exist then, it was meant for computers that run without a GUI (Graphical User Interface), so all you got were text, text and more text. Here’s a screenshot of the game.
Cool, isn’t it?
So basically, you read the text and then give commands with text, too. Because of the lack of graphic (literally), you’ll have to imagine the scene based on what you read.
That’s how the entire game is played. Like, seriously. You’ll look like a hacker from TV shows when what you’re really doing is “moving” your character in a game.
Games nowadays focus a lot on graphics and leave very little for imagination. And this is exactly what happens in the reboot. Thirteen years later, in 1993, the game was rebooted with graphics, and by then, people were no longer interested in adventure games like this.
So, if you think you’re a pioneer gamer just because your first game is Super Mario Bros, think again!
If you watch at least 10 minutes of brain rot content daily, you must know this:
