IKEA S’pore Secretly Releases Coin Pouches That Look Like Their Reusable Bag

IKEA Singapore, lest you’re unaware, is known for primarily three things:

Good food, very good food and extremely good food.

Indeed, you can just hop by either of its local outlets, and chances are that instead of purchasing furniture…

You’re just busy feasting on some delicious meatballs.

But do not be mistaken, for IKEA Singapore is known for so much more than just its sumptuous delicacies. To assume it’s only a food haven would be an insult to its trade, and all that it has amounted to.

And indeed, IKEA Singapore’s pretty renowned for one more aspect:

Its cool renditions of staple items.

And if you fancy yourself as IKEA Singapore’s no.1 fanboy, you’ll be pleased to know that IKEA has released yet another cool staple.

And this one’s affordable to boot.

The Pouch of Glory

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s my honour to introduce IKEA’s latest offering…

The KNOLIG.

Now do not be puzzled by the curious-sounding name, for the apparel in question is nothing like its name.

Basically small IKEA coin pouches made with the oh-so-familiar and iconic blue plastic straws and yellow zipper, they’re released right after the trend of using IKEA shopping bags as regular tote bags.

And at just $1.50 each, they’re a downright steal.

Furthermore, it’s no mere coin pouch either, as this fancy accessory can be attached to your pants (via a hook on the metal chain) for that hypebeast look you’ve always craved for.

Hype?

Hype.

Incidentally, here’s their reusable bag for reference.

Things you never thought would look cool mini-sized, huh?

This isn’t their coolest gimmick to date

A while back, when loveable Ah Lian S-Hook seller was all the rage, IKEA Singapore did an advertisement on their own S-Hooks with a little tongue-in-cheek.

And even more recently, the local king of cheeky ads did a parody when the whole ‘Bus-stop-bench-got-stolen’ hoo-hah erupted.

Indeed, one wonders what creative genius the furniture company has employed for its advertising campaigns. Because if there’s one thing I know…

That person deserves a raise.

Which brings us to the next question: with this cutie bag, we’re 101% sure IKEA’s going to do something naughty on their social media platforms to promote it, like putting as many meatballs inside as possible or stuffing my colleague’s hair into it.

But no, nothing. Nothing on their Facebook, Instagram and website.

So I asked my colleague if IKEA’s PR company has sent a media release about this little secret. He looked at me sheepishly and said, “Are you drunk?”

In other words, it’s a “no”.

Which is exactly why we’ve used the word “secretly” in our headline. It’s really not clickbait hor.

Anyways, what’re you waiting for?

Because believe me when I say that it’s time to jump aboard the hype train!
