If a doctor gave you some medicine for food poisoning and you later discovered it was just salt water, you’d be pretty upset.

But what if you were injected with an empty syringe for your vaccination during a pandemic which has killed over 4 million people?

You’ll probably combust into flames from anger, right? Well, this apparently happened to a Malaysian recently.

Another M’sian Allegedly Injected with ‘Empty Syringe’ for His COVID-19 Vaccine

An aggrieved Malaysian has taken to social media to complain about allegedly being jabbed with an empty syringe for his COVID-19 vaccination.

The man, Tan Wing Sam, detailed the incident in a lengthy post on Facebook.

On 17 July, Tan headed to a vaccination centre to get his first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.

When it was his turn, he asked the nurse if he could record the vaccination process, but she said no.

While he was waiting for the jab, he noticed that there was an empty syringe on the table with its plunger pushed to the end.

Tan said he was expecting the nurse to withdraw the vaccine from a vial that was also on the table, but she applied alcohol on his arm and allegedly injected him with the empty syringe.

She then said the vaccination was complete and asked him to proceed to the next stage.

Incredulous, Tan confronted the nurse, asking whether the jab was administered properly.

In response, the nurse allegedly said: “Should be ada lah, kalau you nak I bagi satu lagi (Should be done lah, but I can give you another if you want)”.

She then proceeded to inject Tan’s arm again with a new syringe, this time withdrawing from the vial first.

“I asked her again if the first one was done properly, she was hesitating and replied ‘should have lah but you say no so I gave you second one’,” Tan wrote.

Nurse Apologises, Supervisor Says Vaccine Was Given “The Second Time”

When Tan raised the issue to another worker, asking if anyone else had been injected twice in the same session, the worker was shocked and called in the supervisor.

After speaking to Tan, the supervisor then questioned the nurse, who allegedly admitted to administering two doses and apologised.

The supervisor reassured Tan that he had indeed been given the vaccine the second time.

Nevertheless, Tan warned the public about the issue, wondering how many people may have been jabbed with an “empty syringe” if they weren’t as observant.

“So please be aware everyone, best if they show you if the vaccine is withdrawn from the vial properly into the syringe, before and after of the syringe, keep eyes on them during the vaccination. Please do not be afraid to voice out!” he wrote.

Tan has since made a police report.

Malaysian Authorities Are Investigating

Another vaccine recipient claimed the same thing happened to him and lodged a police report over the incident.

Now, the COVID-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) is working with the police and the military to investigate the allegations of improper vaccinations.

The CITF said they will not hesitate to take action against those found guilty of such offences.

According to Free Malaysia Today, disciplinary action has since been taken against a healthcare worker at a drive-through vaccination centre (PPV) in Kedah due to “issues related to how she had administered the jab”.
