Some days we don’t feel as good as others and maybe we just want to be left alone. But we can all agree that never is it valid to take it out on innocent people, right?
Unfortunately, not. For two men who visited a store at Beach Road on Tuesday, things did not turn out very amicable.
Police Investigation
The police are investigating a fight that broke out between two men in a store at 371 Beach Road, which was captured in a video that went viral on Facebook.

When contacted, the police said that the incident occurred on Tuesday at 1.11 am and the two men were aged 34 and 27.
How It Went Down
The location of the fight was City Gate, a mixed-use development comprising three storeys of commercial spaces and 311 residential units.
According to the Singaporean shop owner, 40, who was dressed in grey in the video, the 27-year-old victim showed up at his shop at about 1am when it was near closing time to buy takeaway food.
The shop owner said the man then left the shop as he did not have enough money with him and wanted to retrieve some money before coming back.
The man then walked back to the shop and the 34-year-old aggressor came in.
Stare What Stare
The aggressor then looked at the food in the shop as the victim was about to leave having paid, but then stayed back to look at the food some more as he appeared to want to buy more.
The aggressor then accused the victim of staring at him.
The victim then said he was only looking at what else he wanted to buy, and the aggressor challenged him to a fight.
At this point, the shop owner shifted the shop’s CCTV camera to ensure he captured the premises and the two men inside.

Victim Tried to Leave
The victim did not want to fight when challenged and wanted to leave but the aggressor blocked his way.
The first two minutes of the video showed the aggressor continuing to taunt the victim as the shop owner tried to dissuade the two men from fighting.
The aggressor was then seen at one point throwing a stool at the victim, who retaliated with a shove.
It was during this exchange that the victim allegedly hit the aggressor in the face while trying to shake him off, according to the shop owner.
After this exchange, when things appeared to get more heated, the shop owner continued to dissuade the men from fighting but to no avail.
Escalated Even Further
The two men then exchanged a flurry of punches and fell to the ground. Both men then got up, with the aggressor resuming his taunting and shoving.
When the victim started picking up his belongings that fell out of his pocket during the scuffle, the attacker kicked him and knocked him to the ground.
The victim remained face down on the ground for around two minutes before trying to get up with a bloodied mouth.
After the Altercation
Subsequent footage shot on a mobile phone by the shop owner’s partner showed the aggressor continuing to taunt the shop owner and victim while being restrained by security.
The aggressor, who was not wearing a mask throughout, was also seen and heard spitting more than once on camera.
Police arrived subsequently and arrested the aggressor while the victim was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
