An Israeli airstrike targeted a residential building in Tehran’s Shahid Chamran Township on Friday, killing 60 people.

Twenty children died in the attack, according to Iran’s state-run Press TV on Saturday.

CNN reported that Iranian state television footage showed rescue workers clearing debris from a 14-story residential building. Among the child victims was a six-month-old baby.

Ten bodies remain buried under the rubble as emergency crews continue search and rescue operations.

The death toll may rise further as rescue teams work to extract remaining victims from the collapsed structure.

Israeli Forces Target Multiple Iranian Facilities in Friday Attacks

In the early hours of Friday, Israeli forces attacked Iran, hitting nuclear and missile facilities. The strikes killed over 104 people, including top military commanders and scientists. Nearly 380 people sustained injuries in the attacks.

Iranian News Agency (IRNA) reported that Israeli military forces also struck Tehran’s Mehrabad Airport. The attack targeted a hangar storing Iranian fighter jets. The runway and main terminal suffered no damage.

Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, Iravani, stated that multiple Israeli airstrikes killed at least 78 people. Officials have not confirmed whether this figure includes the 60 deaths from the residential building attack.

Iran Responds with Missile Strikes as Aviation Operations Suspended

Iran responded with ballistic missiles targeting several areas across Israel. The retaliatory strikes killed three people and injured over 170 others.

Iran’s Civil Aviation Authority announced the cancellation of all domestic flights effective immediately. The suspension will remain in place until further notice.
