57-Year-Old Jailed Three Weeks for Touching Himself on the MRT and Flicking Bodily Fluid on 23-Year-Old Woman

A 57-year-old man was sentenced to three weeks in jail after pleading guilty to one charge of public nuisance.

He had touched himself on an MRT train and flicked his bodily fluid onto a fellow passenger.

Cheng Choong Peng committed the act on 5 Feb while travelling on the MRT. The incident occurred after 8:00AM, when both Cheng and the 23-year-old victim boarded the train at Jurong East MRT station. H

He stood behind the woman during the journey.

Cheng began thinking about his unsatisfactory sexual relationship with his wife, who would tell him she was tired whenever he wanted to be intimate with her.

Feeling sexually frustrated, Cheng decided to perform a sex act on himself. He unzipped his pants and touched himself while covering his crotch with his tucked-out shirt.

After completing the act, Cheng noticed that some of his bodily fluid was on the floor and on his hands. He then flicked the fluid off his hand, which landed on the woman’s pants.

State prosecuting officer A. Majeed Yosuff told the court that Cheng saw the fluid had landed on the woman’s clothing but did not inform her, as he was afraid she would call the police.

Train Passenger Reports Incident After Discovering Stains at Outram Park Station

The woman remained unaware of the stains until she alighted at Outram Park MRT station en route to her workplace. She discovered her pants were stained with a white sticky substance.

Suspecting the stains came from the man who stood behind her on the train, she sought assistance from SMRT staff at Shenton Way MRT. She subsequently lodged a police report.

The prosecutor said the woman was shocked and felt at a loss. She felt insulted and disgusted by what Cheng had done.

Police obtained swabs from the stains on the woman’s pants and sent them to the Health Sciences Authority for analysis. Cheng was arrested on 20 May.

On 2 Jul, Cheng pleaded guilty to one charge of public nuisance and was sentenced to three weeks’ jail.

Those convicted of public nuisance, knowing that the act would cause annoyance to the public, can be jailed for up to three months, fined up to S$2,000, or both.
