Japan Has A Fried Chicken Robot That’s Cuter Than My Melody Holder

A wise old man once said: “The grass is always greener on the other side. So be content with what you have.”

But I call bullshit on that; because the wise old man has obviously never been to Japan, where there’s a goddamn…

Lawson’s Kaarage-kun Robo

In case you didn’t catch it, Japanese engineers have created something totally phenomenal, and I’m not even talking about the full-sized moving Gundam statue that’s all set to move to Yokohama… Rather, I’m talking about…

Kaarage-kun Robo, a cooking robot that creates fried chicken.

Yes, incredible as it sounds, this beauty churns out actual honest to goodness chicken kaarage for none other than your sacred tastebuds.

Incidentally, this is how it works. Just in case you ever get to try it out.

The Step-By-Step Guide to using Robo-kun

Step 1:

Grab an order card from one of three racks. Three varieties are available: original flavour on the left, “Red” in the middle, and Hokkaido Cheese on the right.

Incidentally, the original flavour costs 216 yen (US$1.90).

Thereafter, take your card up to the counter, where a human clerk will be there to attend to your needs.

Your fried chicken needs.

She will pass you a paper container…

Which you can proceed to fold open and then scan with the Kaarage-kun Robo’s barcode reader.

Upon accessing the code, a door will open on the front of the unit.

Set your container down, with its opening facing upwards…

And prepare for a lofty ‘chicken shower’.

Which takes roughly a single minute to finish processing, in case you’re wondering. Talk about fast.

Happy Feasting! 🙂

Oh and by the way, if you’re stuck in Singapore, well…
