If you have quirks like licking the cream out of an Oreo cookie and then putting the actual Oreo cookies back, then rest fully assured that your quirk is really just scratching the surface.
In a world of oddities, one Japanese man, and a police sergeant no less, was arrested for clogging the toilet bowls in the female restroom.
What?
On Sunday, 27 September 2019, Japanese police sergeant Takashi Atsuchi was arrested for clogging up the female toilet at a Lawson convenience store in Yamaguchi, Japan.
Takashi admitted that he enjoyed watching while the upset ladies reported the clogged toilets.
Here’s How It Happened
A Lawson convenience store in Yamaguchi, Japan, had no less than six incidents of chocked toilet bowls. Two of these incidents needed the services of a professional plumber.
Every time the toilet bowls got clogged, Atsuchi could always be found nearby. He would watch from the parking lot whenever women notified Lawson of their clogged toilets.
Luckily, a sharp-eyed employee recognized Atsuchi and remembered his license plate number.
On Sunday, 27 September 2019, as Atsuchi made his way towards the women’s restroom, Lawson staff immediately called the police. The police quickly arrived and swiftly made the arrest. The police were surprised to find out that Atsuchi was a police sergeant from the Community Safety Division.
In other words, the police arrested the police.
According to SoraNews24, Atsuchi immediately confessed, “I was interested in women’s toilets. I wanted to go in and see.”
The Japanese police released a statement apologizing for Atsuchi’s actions:
“We deeply apologize to everyone in the prefecture for the inappropriate behaviour by one of our officers.”
The case is still under investigation and the Japanese police force is considering terminating the services of Atsuchi. He was charged for burglary as the crime involves unlawful entry into the country.
Public Response
“How does one possibly get off on seeing a woman upset because she can’t use the toilet?” one online user commented.
“A guy who wants to watch women get upset because they can’t use the toilet is extremely gross. Clogging up toilets on purpose is just wrong too,” another online user said.
“This guy is the worst of the worst,” another chimed in.
“People get labelled pervs so often that it’s really surprising to see the real deal,” another netizen said.
And the one comment that takes the cake:
“Now I’m going to be extra concerned when I encounter a clogged public toilet.”
Do Seek Help for ‘Unhealthy’ Habits
We all have our little quirks and habits and what we do in a locked room and in public can differ vastly.
Like, for example, BuffLord95 likes to lick the office carpet every morning, which doesn’t affect anyone of us.
But if it affects others, then please do seek help. Talk to a close friend or family member or go to your nearest Polyclinic and get a referral letter to see a psychiatrist.
Do consider how it feels to be on the receiving end of someone else’s obsession.
But…if your obsession is licking the cream off of Oreos and leaving the actual Oreo cookies, then I guess it’s okay. But just don’t put the licked cookies back into the packet, unless you’re the only one eating okay…
