Jay Chou’s Wife Might be Starring in a Marvel Movie

Before we start, here are some things you should know. Firstly, good news for those who haven’t watched Avengers: Endgame somehow, I’m keeping this spoiler-free.

Secondly, we recently discussed the different phases the MCU movies are classified into and what movies are going to come for sure as well as those that are rumoured to come.

To give you a rundown of that list according to that article,

  • Confirmed movies: Spider-Man: Far From Home (obviously, trailers are out too), Black Panther 2, Doctor Strange 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
  • Rumoured but yet to be confirmed movies: Black Widow, Shang-Chi and The Externals

Now, this article is going to be about the (rumoured but yet to be confirmed) Black Widow movie.

Finally, a Black Widow Movie

Of the main Avengers, Iron man, Thor and Captain America got their own trio of movies. Even the Hulk got his own screen time, even though its played by a different actor from the current one who starred in everything else MCU (Mark Ruffalo).

Who’s left? The 2 underappreciated spies, Black Widow and Hawkeye.

So, understandably, fans have been (selectively) clamouring for that to change. Will Hawkeye ever get his story told?

Who knows/cares?

But Black Widow?

It seems like we can at least unofficially upgrade the Black Widow movie from that foggy area into something a bit more concrete because you can’t start casting for a movie you’re not sure about, can you? (You probably can, but whatever.)

Previously, people have confirmed that David Harbour, Rachel Weisz, Florence Pugh and O-T Fagbenle are going to be in the movie, though their roles aren’t revealed yet.

Now we’re getting excited over the next person to potentially join the cast as one of the supporting roles.

Specifically this lady.

I can already see why she might be a good fit.

Meet Hannah Quinlivan

Hannah Quinlivan is model-actress from Taiwan and has mainly been modelling and acting in Taiwan till her Hollywood debut in 2018 as an assassin in Skyscraper alongside Dwayne Johnson.

People also know her as Jay Chou’s wife.

Jay Chou’s Reveal

With that established, Jay Chou posted a screenshot of an article recently, with a single name tastefully boxed out in purple.

The article posted says that the producers are in the early stages for a search for “an actress of colour aged 15-25”, and the list compiled includes Storm Reid (A Wrinkle in Time) and, of course, Hannah Quinlivan.

“Wow! You’ve been spotted,” Jay commented, which sums up what a big thing this is for the young actress.

With how well Marvel films are doing these days, starring in one will be a huge step up from having just debuted in Hollywood. Getting spotted like that is already a feat.
