Recently, there has been a growing trend of local celebrities moving into their new homes.
First, we had Romeo Tan with his bachelor pad apartment at Marina One Residences. Fancy.
Next, we also had Dennis Chew who bought himself a resale HDB maisonette for S$500,000. That marked the end of his seven-year house-hunting journey.
That’s not all. 26-year-old actress Hong Ling also bought herself a two-bedroom condo in the central part of Singapore.
Having your own place in your twenties is a huge flex to most millennials, NGL.
And now, another celebrity has joined the list.
Jeffrey Xu bought S$800K Bendemeer Condo
Back in July this year, Jeffrey Xu purchased a condominium at Bendemeer for S$800K. The 33-year-old Shanghai-born actor officially moved into the two-room resale unit on 9 September.
9/9. Nice date.
After living in Singapore for 10 years, Xu recently became a Singaporean Permanent Resident (PR) this year. As a result, he wanted to give himself another milestone to get a place he can call home to.
And for all you kaypohs wondering who else will be staying with him…
Answer: no one. His girlfriend, Mediacorp actress Felicia Chin, will not be moving in together.
S$10K artwork of a lion hung on wall
We all know how artworks can enhance the dynamics and overall mood of an apartment. It is an important design element to enhance the décor.
For Xu, he decided to hang a S$10K lion portrait that he has kept in storage for years. Yup, he stored it in the rented HDB flat he used to live in.
So, how did he chance upon such a magnificent art piece?
Four to five years ago, Jeffrey was shopping at ION orchard with his girlfriend Felicia Chin. Both of them were immediately drawn to this particular lion piece at an art gallery.
As Ariana Grande once said, “I see it, I want it, I like it, I got it”.

Precious S$2 note as a keepsake for Felicia
Apart from pricey art pieces, Xu also displays items that hold important memory with Felicia.
An example would be a S$2 note that is stuck to a board in his kitchen.
According to Jeffrey, they once quarrelled and he got so furious that he threw the note on the ground. Afterwards, he went to pick the note back up. From then on, he kept that note to serve as a reminder that such behaviour is wrong.
What an odd way to remember things. But hmm… to each his own.
