SCDF Elite Force Rescued Woman Who Was Found in Bottom of a Large Canal

At times, if you’re in the mood to be entertained, you can head over to SCDF’s Facebook page.

And at other times, you’ll hear of some heartwarming rescue somewhere in Singapore.

Today, we’re going to talk about the latter.

SCDF Elite Force Rescued Woman Who Was Found in Bottom of a Large Canal

On 10 Mar 2021, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) took to Facebook to share about a rescue that happened near Block 510 Jelapang Road.

According to their post, they were alerted at around 5:50pm on 10 Mar 2021.

When officers arrived at the scene, they spotted a woman lying facedown at the bottom of a large canal.

A ladder was deployed to let the officers into the canal to assess the woman’s condition.

Injuries To Head, Hips & Legs

According to the SCDF Emergency Medical Service (EMS), the woman had injuries to her head, hips and legs.

This means that when she is moved, it has to be done carefully.

A feat made even more difficult by the fact that she has to be hoisted into the air.

Officers from SCDF’s elite force, the Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART), secured the woman onto a stretcher and lifted her to safety.

At one point in time, the lady was vertical to the ground, depending on the straps holding her to the stretcher for safety.

According to SCDF, the woman was successfully extricated from the canal and was sent to the National University Hospital (NUH).

It wasn’t clarified how she fell into the canal in the first place.

To understand how cool the SCDF elite force, DART, is, watch the video below:

Yeah, it wouldn’t be far-fetched to call them the commandoes of SCDF.

The SCDF DART team undergoes continuous, rigorous training to prepare themselves for high-risk rescue missions.

Other than complex height and depth operations, their area of responsibilities extends to extended firefighting, industrial emergencies, water rescue operations and overseas rescue operations.

You can catch them in action on the SCDF Facebook page, such as the training exercise they conducted just recently at a Woodlands construction site.

Remember, not all heroes carry two GPMGs in their hands and stand in the open to fire at enemies.
