Fans Support TWICE’s Jeongyeon After Images of Her Weight Gain Surfaced

Lest you’re unaware, the media industry is a cut-throat one.

Late K-Pop star Sulli, for instance, was criticized for having larger than “permitted” arms.

Mandopop king Jay Chou, too, was made fun of when he “ballooned” in the wrong way.

Netizens were, as you might be able to tell, absolutely unforgiving.

Anything less than perfection? Well, they’ve got something to say about it.

Fans Support TWICE’s Jeongyeon After Images of Her Weight Gain Surfaced

And it seems that the above applied to TWICE’s Jeongyeon as well.

So just recently, the popular K-Pop idol was revealed to have gained… some substantial weight.

And as always, netizens did not let the opportunity slip away.

Like they did for numerous other idols, they criticized Jeongyeon’s abrupt weight gain.

Some poked fun at the idol’s new figure, while others stated that they wanted to imitate her “confidence.”

“If it were me, I would be stuck at home because I was afraid of appearing on the show, but I want to imitate (her) confidence.”

But Her Fans Did Not Tolerate It

Meanwhile, disagreeing fans think otherwise.

Expressing delight, they instead commented on how Jeongyeon appears to be genuinely enjoying herself once again.

“Everyone is getting shy to dance.. and there’s Jeongyeon just enjoying herself.”

Some have also hoped for her eventual return to the stage.

“Jeongyeon is always so funny and so witty, I miss her too much,” one fan wrote.

“I hope she really recovers soon and feels comfortable appearing in front of the cameras. Get well soon, ONCE awaits you patiently.”

Anxiety

For the record, it’s not the first time that Jeongyeon had “gained weight.”

Back in October 2020, the idol was revealed to have taken a break due to anxiety issues.

She then returned in January, and was said to have gained weight.

In June 2021, she reportedly lost 8kg for the fans. And in August 2021, she took another break.

She recently returned in a “The Feels” music video shoot.
