We’ve all been in that slump where we’re tired from working or just tired because we stayed up all night playing mobile games, and we need something to fuel us with energy to get us going through the day.
Most of the time, the solution is a big hot cup of coffee that’s like a charger for most people, if people were rechargeable phones.
And then we’d whine that we want coffee, all grumpy and groaning.
We’d do anything for that yummy fix of caffeine.
That’s just what humans do, and famous celebrities are no exception to that.
Coffee Run
Our very own homegrown Mandopop singer JJ Lin found himself in hot soup when he was found to have parked illegally in Taipei.
He was going to a Taiwanese eatery to have coffee with a friend, and it seems like he either really wanted that cup of coffee or really wanted to see that friend.
He’d previously mentioned he doesn’t really go out in public often because of the attention he’d get from his fans.
With his gleaming SGD$855,000 Ferrari 458 in tow, of course, it’s going to be difficult not to attract any attention la.
Unfortunately, when he pulled up outside the eatery, there wasn’t any parking space available nearby. In desperation, he parked at the roadside instead, which obviously people noticed, for it was a Ferrari after all.
He then went on his jolly way to meet his friend and down some shots of caffeine.
Just For A While
JJ Lin’s still a good guy, though, for that was actually just a temporary solution and he still respects traffic rules to some extent.
While chatting with his friend, he constantly monitored the parking situation, and when a parking space became available, he drove his car to park there instead, earning some redemption for his mistake.
His manager, Xu Pei Yun wasn’t going to let him off the hook, however, stating that JJ Lin was setting a bad example. JJ Lin also apologised for it.
Fast And Furious
If his car wasn’t a flashy Ferrari and had it not belonged to the JJ Lin himself, perhaps it wouldn’t have gotten as much attention and backlash.
Lest you didn’t know, JJ Lin’s car is one of a kind. Yes, he’s that rich now, living the Singaporean dream but in Taiwan.
When he first saw a Ferrari car in 1987, when he was just six years old, he vowed to own one of those models when he grew up, and he managed to fulfil his childhood dream.
After his career took off in Taiwan and he’d amassed enough moolah, he headed to Ferrari’s Italy facility to custom-make his new car, and it’s gorgeous.
Talk about dreaming big!
A Recognition of Hard Work
In a statement by Ferrari, the star stated that he wasn’t only drawn to the car because it was prestigious, but it was also “a recognition of the hard work put into crafting it, mirroring his own devotion towards making music that can stand the test of time.”
Also, maybe because it’s good and convenient for going for coffee runs.
In case you missed it, the Mandopop star will be back home in Singapore for a concert on 21 December 2019, if you’re interested in seeing him, or even going for a coffee together with him!
