One of the things that will never be the same again since 2020 is concerts.
The feeling of squeezing in the mosh pit as your favourite artists belt out on stage seemed to be a thing of the past.
In fact, with the newly found COVID-19 variant, we may not be able to attend a physical concert for a long time.
However, local superstar JJ Lin is throwing that theory out the window for he held such a successful physical and virtual concert yesterday (27 Nov) that even our health minister attended it.
JJ Lin’s Sell-Out Concert Was a Success; Even Health Minister Attended It
In case you’re unaware, JJ Lin held a physical and virtual concert yesterday (27 Nov) at Sands Theatre at Marina Bay Sands.
Thanks to the new COVID-19 rules (Vaccinated-Differentiated safe management measures (VDS) + Test) that only apply to certain events such as his concert, people do not have to sit one metre apart.
That means, more people can attend his concert in person and not stare at a loading screen.
Yesterday, around 2,000 fans filled the theatre space. The concert will continue today (28 Nov) as well.

This is the first physical concert JJ Lin had in two years, and it was so significant that Health Minister Ong Ye Kung attended it too. No other details were revealed about the health minister’s attendance. However, JJ Lin and Mr Ong have appeared in a TV show before to talk about COVID-19.
All concert-goers had to be masked at all times and cannot bring any food or beverage in the theatres.
Aside from JJ Lin, Singaporean singer-songwriter, Gentle Bones, was also spotted on stage with him during the show. They performed At Least I Had You together.
And no, Mr Ong did not perform. But if you want to, you can hear our health minister singing here:
