Everyone understands idol worship.
Our idols seem like these otherworldly beings that are as pure as snow and incapable of arousing disgust, unlike us regular, dirty peasants.
So, for instance, if your friend were to blow his nose into some tissue and accidentally threw it on your bed instead of the bin, you might vomit uncontrollably until your room was flooded.
But if your idol did the same thing, you might leave it there for the rest of your existence, cuddling with it every night and waking up to it every morning.
Think that’s crazy? Well, it happens.
JJ Lin Goes To Chinese Hospital, Female Staff Take Turns To Lie On Bed He Rested On
Singaporean singer JJ Lin recently visited a hospital in China and triggered a fangirl frenzy among female staff.
According to Mothership, the Mandopop singer recently completed the 58th show of his Another Sanctuary 2.0 concert world tour at Zhen Jiang city in China on Saturday (Oct 26).
Fans enjoyed his lively show, but the singer came down with the flu later that day.
So, Lin did what any normal human being would do in that instance: he went to the hospital.
Unfortunately, JJ Lin forgot he was JJ Lin, and that people tend to go crazy when he’s around.
Took turns to lie on bed
The staff at Zhenjiang First People’s Hospital were certainly excited by his presence, to say the least.
A video on Facebook shows some women in medical uniform crowding around the bed that JJ Lin rested on.
The women were all clearly very excited, and some even took turns to lie on his bed and take photos of it after Lin had been discharged.
Now, you might be thinking Hey, Goody Feed writer, that seems pretty harmless, why did you use that mucus-filled-tissue-on-my-bed analogy, then?
Well, because that’s not all they (reportedly) did.
Allegedly put up IV drip bags and needle for sale
A screenshot circulating online showed that someone had allegedly purchased Lin’s used IV drip bags and needle.
Now, I understand idol worship but this is foul. I can see the appeal of keeping a leftover jacket because it has the essence of your idol; you can smell them. But what exactly can you do with an IV bag and needle?
Fan: Oh you see I was planning to in-
Actually don’t tell me, I’d rather not know.
Hospital has responded
The hospital has responded in a post on Weibo, saying they are investigating the matter.
They said that they had suspended the workers involved in the video and will take measures to improve the professional discipline of their staff.
Now, I know they were being unprofessional, but you’ve got to feel a little sorry for those nurses. Sometimes, the fangirl takes over and there’s nothing your body can do but give in to her demands.
The hospital also wrote that they had conducted checks and found no leakage of any used medical products.
I find that reassuring because now I don’t have to spend the rest of the day imagining what one fan was planning to do with their idol’s used IV drip bag and needle.
Or maybe they just wanted to clone JJ Lin and called the clone KK Lin. Who knows.
