There are many reasons why an actor may need to be completely naked on camera.
Of course, they are always given the choice of whether or not they want to do it, because it does take a certain amount of courage to decide to bare it all on national television.
I mean, imagine being stark naked in a room full of fully-clothed people and a bunch of cameras pointing at you. Would you do it?
If yes,
Joanne Peh Returns To TV In “Last Madame“
Speaking of being nude on camera, Joanne Peh, has recently made her nude debut in a steamy scene from Toggle’s very first M18 drama, Last Madame.
The 36-year-old made her comeback to television with her role as a brothel boss in the show, and we’ve got to admit, it really does suit her.
After getting married to fellow actor Qi Yu Wu, Peh had given her acting career a little break. That is, until she stumbled upon the role of Fung Lan, the brothel boss, who also happens to be a former prostitute.
“Jean from Ochre Pictures had approached me a couple of years ago for another project, but I was not able to commit because I was intending to get pregnant. She then shared with me the concept of Last Madame that she was preparing for and would really like me to be involved. I was hooked by the story and thought the character she had wanted me to play had many different layers that I wanted to sink my teeth into,” said Peh to 8 Days.
She Takes On A Nude Scene
The actress recently revealed on her Instagram page that she had decided to go nude for the first time ever for the series.
She said that it took her a long time to decide whether or not she wanted to do it, and she also shared that it was a big step for her as an actress to go bare in front of the production crew and her fellow actor.
Her fellow actor for the scene was Jeff Chou, a Taiwanese model.
Read carefully, by the way: it’s Jeff Chou, not Jay Chou.
“But I decided to do this because the context of the story and character motivations were fully justified. It wasn’t just about love-making, it was my character learning to love and trust again, and a transitional milestone for both our characters,” she wrote.
Peh also admitted that she was initially worried about how it would look like on screen because she felt that so many things could go wrong. However, upon seeing the final cut, she was moved and realised that she had made the right decision.
The entire series can be found on Toggle, and you can watch it by clicking here.
Just make sure you’re above 18.
