Taiwanese actress Joe Chen, fresh from her star-studded wedding in Langkawi, Malaysia, recently enjoyed a getaway in Singapore with her Malaysian painter husband, Alan Chen. The 45-year-old actress, who looks like she’s 25 years old, took to the Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu on 7 October to share highlights of her culinary adventures in the Lion City.
You can watch this video to understand why so many people are using Xiaohongshu:
Michelin-Starred Dining at Saint Pierre
Probably inspired by the popular South Korean cooking competition series Culinary Class Wars on Netflix, Chen was craving a Michelin-starred experience and chose Saint Pierre, a two-Michelin-star contemporary French restaurant located at One Fullerton, which offers stunning views of Marina Bay Sands and the surrounding skyline.
Chen shared her thoughts on the meal, admitting that the scallops in one of the courses were a bit too sour for her taste.
However, she thoroughly enjoyed the overall experience. Reflecting on fine dining, she said, “Fine dining is an art, and chefs are the artists of food. In every bite, you can taste so many stories on your tongue. That’s what makes fine dining so interesting.”
A netizen also posted a photo of Chen and her husband at the restaurant, which had originally been shared on Chen’s Instagram Stories.
But it’s not just atas food.
In addition to her fine dining experience, Chen took the opportunity to savor some of Singapore’s local delicacies.
She posted Instagram Stories of her visit to one of Song Fa Bak Kut Teh’s outlets and also shared a snapshot of a classic street treat: a slab of ice cream sandwiched between wafer biscuits from an Orchard Road ice cream cart.
During a Q&A session with fans on Instagram, Chen revealed that her ice cream flavour of choice was corn.
Chen’s time in Singapore wasn’t without fan interactions. Several netizens mentioned spotting her and her husband shopping along Orchard Road. One fan even approached the actress for a photo, but Chen politely declined.
Well, at least her visit wasn’t as crazy as iShowSpeed’s visit.
