Jurassic Mile Now Looks Even More IG-Worthy With Neon Signs & Festive Lights

“Jurassic Mile” sounds like the fifth installment of the Jurassic Park film series, but it’s actually part of a park connector network (PCN) that links Changi Airport and East Coast Park, giving visitors the option to cycle or jog to the airport for the first time.

As for why it was named Jurassic Mile, well, you’d know if you ever walked along the 3.5km route.

The PCN is lined with 20 large dinosaurs, with the tallest one towering at almost 5 metres high.

Now, just like Little India during Deepavali, Jurassic Mile is about to get a lot more colourful.

Jurassic Mile Now Looks Even More IG-Worthy With Neon Signs & Festive Lights

To mark the festive occasion, Jurassic Mile will be adorned with colourful neon signs and a beautiful arrangement of lights until 3 Jan, 2021.

The event, called Dino Dazzle, begins with a newly-erected 25m-long light tunnel at the entrance of the PCN.

Some animals, like this Tyrannosaurus Rex, now look a little like a deformed Christmas tree, wrapped in several strips of LED lights.

At one attraction along the route, a group of three little playful dinosaurs are illuminated by tiny bulbs of light on the ground, mirroring a celestial ocean of stars.

The light-up takes place from 6:30pm to 1am daily.

One of them is the popular Dino Kart, a go-karting experience at Changi Airport Terminal 4.

Once a waiting area for taxis, the space has been revamped into several go-karting lanes with some dino spectators.

Just like Jurassic Mile, there’ll also be a night-karting experience with the same neon lights and a gorgeous lit-up tunnel.

This unique go-karting experience will cost you $12 on weekdays, and $16 on weekends.

You have to be at least nine-years-old as of 1 Nov, 2020 and 1.3 metres in height to race the karts.

Participants are also required to wear covered shoes.

Operating hours:

Mondays to Wednesdays: 3pm – 10pm

Thursdays to Sundays, eves of public holidays, and public holidays: 2pm – 11pm

Alternatively, you could visit the bouncy castle at Terminal 4 to bounce your 2020 troubles away.

Or, if you’d rather just eat and shop instead, 50 F&B and lifestyle retail stalls will be taking over the Terminal 4 Departure Hall from 3 to 27 Dec, only on Thursdays to Sundays.

There, you can stuff your stomach with good food, pet some dinos, and meet and greet a couple of roving raptors.

What better way to spend Christmas than with some inanimate sculptures of pre-historic creatures?
