What’s in a wave?
Firstly, there’s the most innocuous wave from our awesome Adele sending you her love while paparazzi are chasing her down pavements.
There’s also the most awesomest American president I’ve known in my lifetime waving to adoring crowds.
And even more importantly and closer to home, there’s this.
By now, every one in Singapore should have an idea who this lady is.
If you don’t, it’s likely that you haven’t yet downloaded our App, so why haven’t you?
Rumour has it that Trashy Feed’s App will be made mandatory curriculum material at the secondary school level by 2091, because why not?
But please don’t quote me on that.
It provides daily up-to-date news, with insightful comments and writer-ly thoughts (yours truly), and not to mention, we are always politically right.
Bye Bye Bye
So if you didn’t already know, that’s the alleged Platinium Dogs Club (PDC) owner waving goodbye to the media on 2 January 2019.
It now appears that she’s apparently doggo-abusive, rich, and prescient too.
Prescient because she was clearly waving goodbye to the smell or freedom, liberty and (not) justice.
Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Home Affairs and National Development Sun Xueling shared on Facebook yesterday that the alleged owner has been arrested and urged calm while entreating the public “to let the authorities investigate the case thoroughly and fairly.”
If Facebook is not your thing because damn they compromise your confidentiality, here’s the post:

– Operator arrested and assisting with investigations
Ensuring the safety and welfare of the animals has always been a top priority for the AVA for all alleged animal abuse or welfare cases.
The AVA is continuing investigations into the Platinium Dogs Club, including making further inspections. The operator has also been arrested and is assisting with investigations on alleged animal welfare-related offences. Investigations will be comprehensively carried out, and we will take enforcement action on any animal welfare infringements.
I am happy to know that several pet owners have been reunited with their dogs that were being previously boarded with Platinium Dogs Club. The AVA had taken the dogs into temporary custody previously to safeguard their welfare after a raid.
Let’s stay calm and let the authorities investigate the case thoroughly and fairly.
Writer’s note: (AVA-SPF joint news release Link here):
In a response to The Straits Times, the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) confirmed that she was arrested on Sunday and it is understood that the woman is currently held at Tanglin Police Division.
Is she held in comfort like they way she did her canine friends?
Ministerial Involvement(s)
You know too that this news is legit national level concerns because Ms Sun’s post wasn’t the first time a politician chimed in on the news.
Just yesterday, you would have read on our app, even if it was nestled all the way down of your iOS/Android interface because we write so much trash per day, that Law and Home Affairs Minister K. Shanmugam had taken to Facebook on 5 January 2019, Friday (who would have guessed it) to give his two cents worth about the entire saga.
In his post, as it was with Ms Sun’s post, Mr Shanmugam assured Singaporeans “there will be thorough investigations and there will be due process. Anyone who has engaged in illegal acts will face the consequences.”
He ended the post by tagging:
Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA)
Singapore Police Force
SPCA Singapore
Little wonder the arrest was made two days after his post on Sunday.
I mean what…. non-work Sunday leh, can’t wait till workday Monday to arrest me?
Guess not.
Not complaining though, glad Balenciaga got to spend her weekend in Tanglin resort.
How About Prince?
While the dogs have united with their owners, there’s one dog that’s supposedly missing: Prince.
The Shetland Sheepdog allegedly escaped from Platinium Dogs Club and has been missing since then. So far, there hasn’t been any news about it and according to an online petition that’s asking for stiffer punishment for PDC, Prince is still missing.
But at least now, there’s some closure.
Here’s a simplified summary of the South Korea martial law that even a 5-year-old would understand:
