Do you need to apologize for being in a relationship? Yes, you do, if you’re Karina, and your boyfriend is actor Lee Jae-Wook.
Here’s what happened.
Karina: “I’m sorry for surprising you”
Only a week after Dispatch did what it does best — spilling the tea on K-Idols’ private lives — Karina took to Instagram to pen down her thoughts on the situation, albeit it wasn’t what the fans wanted to hear.
Apparently, her fans weren’t happy that she had surprised them with her relationship status.
She wrote, “Hello, this is Karina. Firstly, I am sorry for surprising you.”
She then went on to say that she is “aware of how disappointed MYs [Aespa’s fans] who have supported her till now must be.”
She added, “Starting now, I want to do a good job filling the places where MYs have been wounded. I have always been sincere towards MYs, and even now, each and every one of you is truly precious to me.”
And the best of all? She has handwritten the apology.

But still, that wasn’t enough.

While there are many who have showered Karina with love and support, others have not held back on their disappointment.
Her Instagram apology only intensified the discussion, with some fans taking it directly to SM Entertainment with protest trucks.
Like, literally.
The sign read, “You should be more sorry to yourself for your 7 years of effort rather than being sorry to Karina fans! You have messed up your own path. All your efforts are being negated due to one dating rumor! Are you satisfied?”
On the other spectrum, mostly international fans have expressed their confusion as to why Karina has had to apologize in the first place.
One can only wonder what the backlash would be if a single idol suddenly announced that she’s pregnant.
Over in TikTok, there’s a drama involving property agents that’s caused by us. Here’s what happened:
