KFC S’pore Releasing Meat-Free Chicken Burger from 13 Jan for a Limited Time

Going to KFC for a meat-free meal is like visiting a Gucci store while broke; you can certainly do it, but it’ll just leave you empty and sad.

KFC is short for Kentucky Fried Chicken after all, and customers primarily go there to sink there teeth into some juicy chicken drumsticks or burgers with thick meat patties.

But it’s 2021, and everyone’s going green.

Meatless food products that look and taste like meat are all the rage now, as convincing meat eaters to give up meat for the environment was a rather tough task.

Now, KFC is joining the meatless bandwagon.

Get out your wallets, put on your face masks, and abandon your carnivorous diet because KFC is launching a meat-free Chicken burger!

That’s right, the OG Fried Chicken experts are going meat free in a bid to be more green.

The Zero Chicken Burger is KFC’s first ever meat-free alternative product, but like all their other menu items, it’ll be finger lickin’ good.

Residents in Singapore are particularly lucky as we’ll be the first in Southeast Asia to try this meatless creation.

The mycoprotein meat-free patty, made with Colonel’s Original Recipe of 11 herbs and spices, is nestled in between two toasted sesame buns.

The scrumptious creation is then topped with fresh lettuce, sliced cheese, and a dollop of tangy BBQ sauce.

Juliana Lim, Senior Director, Marketing & Food Innovation at KFC Singapore said: “The start of the New Year brings fresh ideas and the new KFC Zero Chicken Burger is no different”.

“We see a trend towards flexitarianism and increased demand for meat alternative products, so we wanted to offer a meat-free option but still keeping the same great KFC taste. After months of taste testing, we are so proud to launch the FIRST chicken burger without any chicken!”

The Zero Chicken Burger will be available from 13 Jan for a limited time only.

Customers can enjoy the burger a la carte for $6.55, or with a meal at $8.65.

The new burger is available for dine-in, takeaway, and KFC delivery at all outlets islandwide except those at the Singapore Polytechnic and Singapore Zoo.

Important Note: KFC has stated that the Zero Chicken Burger is not vegan or vegetarian, so it would not be suitable for customers on those diets.

But if you’re sick of the same old fast food options and want a change, you can certainly go for the meat-free Chicken burger.

After all, it’s better for the environment!
