Everybody knows Sparta Jong Kook, right?

While he’s known for his voice and singing ability, most Singaporeans know him by another persona.

The Tiger on Running Man.

What you might not know is that the Tiger knows how to speak English fluently too. Here, take a look:

Previously, we wrote about how Tom Cruise and the M.I. crew appearing on Running Man is possibly the most amazing thing to ever come out of Korea tv.

But we didn’t know better.

Because this.

This video could possibly be more amazing than Kim Jong Kook and his beautiful muscles in action on Running Man.

My handsome colleague say one.

It’s Kim Jong Kook, taking on the Singlish challenge.

On 1 Sep, Viu Singapore uploaded a video of our resident Running Man, Kim Jong Kook. His mission for the day? Try to guess what the Singlish words mean.

And believe it or not, he managed to get most of it right. Using his hard-earned skills from running man.

Here, look at the words he guessed and see if you’re a true-blue Singaporean yourself.

When asked what Kanchiong Spider means, poor Kim Jong Kook could only think about Spiderman.

That and how relaxing it was to be a Spiderman.

Turns out, chim isn’t so simple after all.

This was hard but believe it or not, Kim Jong Kook actually got this right.

And this too.

And holy moly, this too.

So how many did you get right?

By the way, Kim Jong Kook got only one word wrong. Although, let’s just say that he managed to cheat his way through.

Here, you can watch the video for yourself here:

And the best part, he is genuinely intrigued by the way we mangled the English language and made it our own.

Plus, the way he treats the staff is pretty cool. Taking notice of their reaction and making the effort to be courteous towards them despite being a world-famous star.

His Singaporean Fans Going Absolutely Ga-Ga Over Him

It’s pretty funny. When a Singaporean appears on video and speaks in less than perfect English, he or she gets dissed.

But when you get a world-famous foreign star out to speak Singlish, everybody starts going crazy.

From everything about him

To his laughter

And of course, Singlish.

Oh well.
