There’s a deadly virus spreading all over the world, people are losing their jobs, and serious humanitarian disasters are happening in some countries, but nothing, and I mean nothing, will stop people from talking about the love life of celebrities.
Reader: Yeah, it’s unbelievable, isn’t it?
You’re literally reading an article about a celeb divorce.
Reader: Fair point, but you’re writing an article about a celeb divorce.
Fair point. I guess we can’t help ourselves, can we?
Billionaire Peter Lim’s Daughter, Kim Lim, Revealed That She is Now Divorced
Kim Lim, a 29-year-old socialite, recently revealed that she had divorced her partner Kho Bin Kai after three years of marriage.
For those who don’t know, Kim is the daughter and heiress of Peter Lim, a Singaporean billionaire and owner of the Spanish football club Valencia.
In an interview with Icon Singapore, Kim said that she and her husband, Kho Bin Kai, have been living apart since the end of last year.
So, why did things turn sour?
According to AsiaOne, Kim and Kho got hitched in Feb 2017. They met in a temple in Thailand the year before where Kim said she had been attracted to Kho’s “bad boy vibes”.
They had a child five months after their marriage.
They were so taciturn about their relationship that fans speculated Cristiano Ronaldo was the baby’s father after he visited Kim while she was in the hospital.
In an interview from 2018, Kim said she and her husband were very different people, but that it had not impacted their marriage.
She said that while she is loud, loves fashion, and sashimi, her husband is quiet, dresses simply, and only eats cooked food.
Last year, Kho had a brush with the law when he was charged in court for assisting in remote gambling. He is out on bail and his case is pending.
More than two years after the couple tied the knot, Kim said their relationship had fallen into a monotonous pattern and that things had become stale.
Husband Quietly Accepted Divorce
So, she decided to end their marriage.
“Rather than insist on an unhappy marriage, why not let both parties pursue their own freedom?”, she said.
When she told her husband that she wanted to get a divorce, Kho quietly accepted it, she said.
Kim also denied that her parents’ separation had any influence over her decision. She said that women should not be afraid to put themselves first these days.
Now, the heiress is focused on pursuing her dreams; making her aesthetics businesses a success.
She established Papilla Haircare in 2019 and Illumia Therapeutics this year, and while it’s been nothing but hard work – she only takes Sundays off – Kim said she doesn’t regret it.
“My only regret was not pursuing this dream of mine sooner.”
