Still remember Kim Yeji, the viral Olympic shooter?
Yes, the cool South Korean shooter who won a silver medal at the Paris Olympics’ women’s 10m air pistol event this year.
If you became a fan of Kim after watching the Paris Olympics this year, or even just from seeing edits of her incredible “aura” on TikTok, you probably already see the shooter as some sort of an influencer.
But now, she actually might become a proper full-fledged influencer. Here’s why.
Viral South Korean Olympic Shooter Kim Yeji Signs Management Contract with Talent Agency PLFIL
On Monday (19 August), the talent agency PLFIL announced that they had signed the viral South Korean Olympic shooter Kim Yeji.
But what exactly does the signing of this management contract between PLFIL and Kim mean? Well, it means that we’ll probably be seeing Kim more on the news and social media. The talent agency will represent the South Korean shooter in various areas such as brand endorsements, TV appearances, fan communications, and more.
In other words, Kim is going to become an influencer lah.
You might be thinking: “Then what about her shooting career? Is she going to give it up?”
Well, the answer is no. Kim will be juggling both at the same time. If you’re worried that you won’t be seeing Kim on the shooting stage anymore, fret not — PLFIL has emphasised that Kim’s promotional activities under the talent agency will come second to her priorities as an athlete. This is especially since Kim is set to begin preparations for upcoming shooting competitions.
And it appears that the talent agency has been rather understanding of Kim’s commitment to sport, and aims to use the talent platform as a manner to contribute to sports management.
“We decided that our short-form content production capabilities and global network can sufficiently contribute to sports management. Kim Ye-ji is not only an excellent shooter, but also an impressive person. Please show lots of support and interest,” the talent agency shared.
Kim Yeji Scheduled to Appear as a Model for Louis Vuitton Pictorial
To no one’s surprise, the industry has also moved rather quickly to snap Kim up.
Kim has already been scheduled to appear as a model for a Louis Vuitton pictorial this week — meaning that we’ll probably see the silver medallist on a Louis Vuitton campaign soon.
From actually shooting to figuratively shooting (we think we’re funny lah).
And for all you know, with how cool she looks when she’s shooting, Kim might just appear in a John Wick movie too. Who knows.
