Kind Man In Yishun Ordered Fried Rice & Told Delivery Rider To Keep It

The world is full of scandals, tragedies, crimes, and many more bad news that you can read on the Internet that would make you lose faith in the world.

But amidst the horrors of humanity, hope can rise anew.

Every now and then, you will read a wholesome piece of news that restores your faith.

Well, here’s that piece of fairy tale for you.

Once upon a time in Yishun, a man ordered a packet of fried rice with GrabFood.

If not for the article headline and my introduction, you’d probably think this story doesn’t end well, right?

Well, this proves that even Yishun isn’t as cursed as people think.

Once upon a time, at 12:45 in the am, a gallant knight by the name of Terence had placed an order for a packet of fried rice and iced tea from the local eatery Badriya Food Corner.

A night rider under the employment of GrabFood named Fadli was tasked to pick up the meal that costed $7.80.

However, on the packet of supper was a note left for the rider by Terence.

“Your supper bro. Enjoy” said the note.

Taken aback by Terence’s words, the rider Fadli rushed to contact him through his communication device.

“Food is yours,” said Terence, before he added: “Have a good night my friend.”

Reluctant to accept a freebie he felt was unearned, Fadli replied: “Hey nah man you ordered and I’m here to deliver it to you.”

Ignoring his pleas, Terence simply stated with a smile: “I’m going to sleep bro, goodnight.”

“Are you being serious?” Fadli chuckled in disbelief at the kindness of this stranger. “I can send it over, it’s my job.”

“Yes, serious,” Terence assured while laughing. “Take it.”

“Thank you so much, god bless you my friend.” Fadli thanked the gracious gentleman, before wishing him a good night.

And they lived happily ever after.

I hope you liked my tale of Terence the Terrific and Fadli the Fortunate.

Many GrabFood riders work in the midnight on an empty stomach in order to fill our midnight cravings.

While one can argue that it is their job, it is never pleasant when one has to work hungry, especially late in the night.

Such a seemingly minor deed as treating a random rider to a free supper may seem trivial, but not only does it feed and brighten his day, it also sets off a possible chain of kindness that brightens our world a little more.

A small act of kindness goes a long way.
