Strange things are happening in Singapore nowadays.

Some of them bad.

Some of them good.

Luckily for you, who are likely hoping to read some goodness at the end of the day to regain some faith in humanity, this belongs to the latter.

Man Finds White Envelope With Money While Crossing Over To JB

On 12 February 2019, Liu was travelling to JB, Malaysia when he chanced upon a white envelope.

When he opened it up, he found a thick stack of $50 notes contained within.

Now, pause for a bit.

What would you do if you’ve found this money, and assume there’s nothing to identify the owner by (if not, you’d have returned it and not air it out on Facebook).

You’ll probably keep it, right?

Either that or pass it along to the authorities. And the money might just make it way back to its lost owner.

Well, this man decides to try a different tack.

Instead of keeping it or passing the problem to the authorities, he decided to do something about it himself.

Are You The Owner? Tell Me How Much Was In There?

He tried to find the owner of the lost monies using the power of social media.

Here’s his caption in case you can’t read it:

I had found an(sic) white envelope with some money inside the envelope when l was on the way approaching back to JB from Singapore just now. If you have lost your money, kindly pm me and l could return the money to you if you able to tell me how much exactly the money inside the white envelope.

Yes. As long as you can tell him how much money was in the envelope, he’ll return the money as long as you get it exactly right.

With that, the post went viral almost immediately with over 1.2k shares and tons of comments.

Netizens went crazy…

…with praises, that is.

People couldn’t resist tell him what a good guy he is, and told him that he’ll get good karma.

However, there’s one who felt he should have handed it over to the authorities.

Another Lady Was Mentioned In The Facebook Post’s Comment Section

Besides the adulation of the masses, one Facebook commenter linked another Facebook post in the comments section.

The lady, Lim Qian, allegedly lost an envelope containing S$1,000 at JB. It was her first salary from Singapore that she had worked hard for.

While it wasn’t known if the envelope of money belongs to the lady, netizens were sceptical.

And most don’t think that she’s the owner of the lost money.

Seems like there’ll be plenty of people trying their luck at guessing the amount now.

But we do hope that the rightful owner gets back their money.
