In the past day, social media users were outraged by the viral videos depicting child abuse at Kinderland Pre-school @ Woodlands Mart.

The involved teacher has since been terminated and arrested by the police. However, Kinderland has not issued any public comments.

Before this incident could be fully processed, another video emerged, this time from a different branch of the same kindergarten franchise.

Second Incident Allegedly Happened in Sunshine Place, Choa Chu Kang

The subsequent incident occurred at Sunshine Place in Choa Chu Kang.

A Facebook user uploaded a 19-second video showing a woman in a blue top and striped pants, surrounded by several children, with her feet on a chair between a child.

A boy, holding a blue water bottle, is seen in the video.

The woman forcefully opened the bottle cap and yelled “drink” in Mandarin at the boy.

As the boy put his mouth around the straw, the woman raised her hands and began patting his head, as if to dismiss him.

The boy then slowly walked away.

Although the video has been deleted for unknown reasons, Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim, the local Member of Parliament, was made aware of the incident and informed the Singapore Police Force and the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA).

The time and exact location of this incident remain uncertain.

Response from Kinderland @ Woodlands Mart

CNA reported that the principal of Kinderland @ Woodlands Mart has addressed the initial incident in a letter to parents via their portal.

The principal stated that the ECDA and police are conducting independent investigations into the matter, and the school has fired the teacher involved.

“We have also reached out to the parents of the affected children and apologised deeply to the parents and children,” she said. “We are profoundly grateful to parents who have accepted our apology and remedial measures, to which they have our fullest assurance that we continue to place the utmost priority on the welfare of children under our care.”

She added that she and the teachers “remain committed to upholding this trust you have placed in us and we will continue to work together constructively for our children to grow holistically”.
