Lee Se Hee appeared on the 5 Jul 2025 episode of MBC’s Omniscient Interfering View to directly respond to the claims. The speculation centered on her supposed membership in the Hwasan Yi clan, which some netizens associate with descendants of Vietnamese royalty.
In Vietnam, this connection led to online references describing her as a “noblewoman” from a distinguished lineage. The claims sparked fan intrigue and fueled misinformation about her background.
Actress Debunks Royal Lineage Claims
Lee Se Hee firmly debunked the royal ancestry rumours during her television appearance on Omniscient Interfering View. She revealed that her actual clan membership differs from what netizens claimed.
“I saw those posts too. But I’m actually from the Jeonju Yi clan, not Hwasan Yi. People seemed to think I was royalty, so I just let it be,” Lee Se Hee stated.
When asked why she had not previously addressed the widespread online rumours, Lee Se Hee explained that she saw no need to make a statement since the claims were not malicious.
She wittily added that being labelled as royalty was rather nice.
