Lady Bought McNuggets with 1 That Looked Like It’s Bitten; McDonald’s Has Responded

There’s one thing that we all can agree on about McDonald’s: their latest salted egg yolk loaded fries is such a flop, Dee Kosh might just include that in his top 10 idiots of 2019 list.

I’ve spoken to almost 8 million people in Singapore and all of them agree that the sour egg yolk unloaded fries might have been approved when someone’s drunk, or maybe it’s a viral marketing campaign for their next item.

But there’s another thing that we all can agree about McDonald’s: they’ve got one of the best operations in the world.

I won’t be shocked if this conversation just took place somewhere in a mall:

“Let’s have <Fast-Food A>.”

“Don’t want lah, they very slow one. Always out of stock for some items. Go McDonald’s lah, we got only 30 minutes before the movie starts.”

“Okay, I’ve loving it.”

In fact, if you’re a business student, you might have even studied McDonald’s operations.

So when they “cocked up” in their operations, you can bet that they’ll have a valid reason for it.

(No, they didn’t pay us to write this. Though we won’t mind if they send us some nice food…but they’ve been sending for a while now.)

Lady Found “Bitten” Nugget

So, last Thursday (17 January 2019) a Facebook user ordered one sharing box from the McDonald’s branch in Suntec City.

It comes with McNuggets and McWings, and is perfect as an afternoon snack to be shared among friends.

But it seems like it’s not that perfect for the Facebook user, for she received this instead:

Yeah, it looks like a rat has sneaked in and taken a bite because it’s loving it.

And here’s a closer look:

Definitely a rat…no?

The Facebook user then tried to call the outlet but no one picked up. So she posted it on McDonald’s Facebook page instead.

And so, with such viral content, the trusty Mothership.SG sailed into action again to find out what happened.

And found out they did.

Nugget accidentally chipped off

It turns out that it’s not a hungry rat but a mere human error: when a staff was scooping the nugget out, he or she accidentally chipped off the side of a nugget.

This was revealed after they viewed the CCTV to confirm the case.

Here’s their statement:

We’re aware of this and have reached out to the customer to clarify and apologise for causing undue concern.

Upon reviewing our restaurant CCTV footage, we can confirm that the ‘missing’ part of the Chicken McNugget was accidentally chipped off, when being scooped out of the food warmer by our Crew.

We would like to assure all our customers of our 100 per cent commitment to serve safe and quality food at all times.

Notice that they “apologise for causing undue concern” for this isolated incident: something that a particular national company hasn’t been doing in their public statements.

Don’t worry, I ain’t going to name that company. It just starts with a S and ends with a T.
