Lady Claimed to be Victim of Doxxing After Being Accused of Being a ‘Cat Killer’

When going to authorities don’t work, take it to social media. That’s a pretty good rule to follow. Well, when it comes to complains at least.

At least that’s what I learnt when posting my handsome face to social media only to get 5 likes. 4 of them also happen to talk a little bit like bots.

But anyway, a Redditor u/ImmaBox has allegedly been harassed, assaulted, then doxxed by a crazy cat auntie. When she brought the case to the police, she received no help and decided to write her case on Reddit.

But before anything else…

Read with a huge pinch of salt; no concrete evidence is available

The entire account was in text, aided by 1 video and 3 pictures. All of these contain no actual evidence of the incidents claimed to have happened. The entire post is pretty chunky, and you can read it here.

With that said, let’s hear u/Immabox’s version of the story.

Aggressive Cat in the Neighbourhood

The cat, a stray, would stalk u/ImmaBox’s dog and even started attacking. It is to the point where she had to shield her dog and sustained injuries.

But unfortunately, there isn’t any concrete evidence of the cat actually being an aggressor.

Cats don’t attack people for no reason. For instance, feeling threatened or being sick might cause cats to be more aggressive. But will it cause them to attack 2 living beings much larger than it is? Such cases are pretty rare.

u/ImmaBox then claims that other residents have similar stories of the aggressive cat, who appeared to have attacked a kid and another cat before.

Seeking help from NPark

With a specific request to re-home the cat instead of putting it down, u/ImmaBox made a report to NParks. NParks’ response was to contact the Cat Welfare Society, but 3 weeks passed and u/ImmaBox was once again attacked.

This time resulting in the following wounds and a tetanus shot.

The cut doesn’t look to be too deep, but you can see blue-blacks around the wound. Of higher concern was if the cat had any infectious diseases.

Confrontation with “Crazy Cat lady”

The night a day later, a middle-aged woman approached u/ImmaBox about the cat report.

U/ImmaBox claims the lady to be aggressive, demanding for U/ImmaBox to walk her dog elsewhere and even took pictures and videos of her. This is when u/ImmaBox is called a “cat killer”.

u/ImmaBox contacted an NParks officer and advised her to call the police if she gets harassed again.

After the lady got home, she called the NParks officer, who told her to make a police report if she ever gets harassed again.

Confrontation again

As she was walking her dog the next day, the woman approached u/ImmaBox again, claiming that u/ImmaBox’s dog attacked her. The woman also tried to take pictures and videos of u/ImmaBox.

u/ImmaBox called the police, and in trying to stop the woman from recording, the woman’s phone dropped. U/ImmaBox claims that the woman then attacked her, resulting in broken glasses and injuries from falling down.

These is evidence of injuries happening, but taking the story only from u/ImmaBox’s side doesn’t tell us if it was true.

Doxxing

3 days after that, u/ImmaBox came to know of social media posts posted by the woman that included photos, videos, and the address of u/ImmaBox. A claim that u/ImmaBox called for the cat to be culled was attached, along with a plea for donations for the cat. It is revealed here that the woman is associated with the Cat Welfare Society.

u/ImmaBox claims that the uploaded content was cut and edited to make it seem like u/ImmaBox was the aggressor. She contacted the Cat Welfare Society to offer her side of the story but was ignored. The Police seemed unable to help for some reason.

She filed a Magistrate Report and is considering a lawyer at this moment.

Reddit gave her several advice, which included…

The Other side of the story

In a buried comment, u/lunaelly posted the other side of the story, claiming to be PM’d by an old redditor with a Facebook post. You can see said comment here, though the link to the Facebook post is still not found.

Lengthening this article further would probably make this a legit compilation report usable in court, so here’s the gist: Cat is called Tabby. Used to be owned, but then became stray. Had no complaints until recently. Tabby wasn’t hostile all the while but behaved scared. Facebook post claims dog owner was trying to stalk the cat, was rude and aggressive and attacked the poster.

So, it seems like things did happen but we don’t know who to believe. I believe the case is already brought up, and we should leave a non-armchair detective to do more groundwork in the investigation.
