Think Korean drama characters only appear in TV shows?
Think again.
A video of an argument between a middle-aged woman and a young lady at a renowned roasted chestnut stall in Guangzhou has been making waves online.
And man, the white-dressed lady is totally pulling off that ‘irritating rich ass heiress’ character here.
What happened?
A young lady had reportedly cut the queue at the stall, and the older woman queueing up didn’t like that.
The latter proceeded to question her why she was cutting queue.
The young lady, who was carrying a branded bag, retorted,”If you ruin my Hermès bag, could you afford to pay for it?”
The older woman wasn’t impressed. “So just because you have a Hermès bag,” she replied. “You can afford to lack a sense of shame?”
The young lady, upon realising the failure of her all-expensive bag, said that she had cut the queue as she was rushing for time.
The older woman, evidently irate, continued scolding her, asking why she couldn’t queue like everyone else. To drive the point home, the older woman looked to the audience and said:
“Everyone look at this young lady here. She has no manners; there are so many people queuing but she doesn’t know how to queue.”
The young lady, panicking at this point, reached into her bag and retrieved a pink purse. She took out a bundle of cash from it, and told the woman, “You want money, right? Here, I got a lot.”
And she threw the stack in the older woman’s face.
This enraged the woman even further.
Producing a bunch of onions and celery, the woman began using the vegetables as a form of melee sword.
The latter instinctively shielded herself with her bag, in a desperate attempt at protection.
After a flurry of blows, the young lady threw her Hermès bag at the woman, before passer-bys eventually stepped in to separate the two.
The video has been, however, taking down.
Is it fake?
Some Netizens certainly thought so, denouncing it as a marketing gimmick for the stall.
Others, however, praised the older woman for her actions.
Honestly, I’m more partial to the marketing gimmick angle.
I’m not sure; something about the video just screams scripted to me. It’s like they were reading off lines, and just acting out the emotions needed.
But that’s just me.
What about you? Are you on Team ‘The Older Woman is the next Mother Theresa!’, or on Team ‘This is faker than my neighbour’s implants!’?
