If you’ve seen many of your friends in Manchester United kit yesterday in a crowded stadium and thought that they’ve travelled all the way to England to support the Red Devils, you’re wrong: they’re in the Singapore Sports Hub for a match between Manchester United and Inter Milan.
And it’s not a friendly match whereby the team would send in their under-21 squad just to sell tickets—instead, it’s a real tournament that’s played across the world, and Singapore is host to two matches.
The first happened yesterday, and it started with roaring success: it broke the record as a local match with the most number of speculators, with an attendance of 52,897.
Also, it broke the Internet as someone proposed in front of 52,895 people.
And it’s not the guy who proposed.
Lady Went Down on Her Knees
If there’s one video that shows what gender equality is, this would be it:
During half-time as fans were wondering if they were going to see any goal, the screen showed a lady on her knee, proposing to her boyfriend.
As expected, the crowd cheered even louder than the 76th minute goal by Mason Greenwood.
The man seemed to say yes and they even posed for the screen.
Despite the lack of any football jersey, the sea of red immediately clapped, and we’ve a win for the lady before Manchester United finally sealed their win with a left-foot shot in the second half.
There’s one more match tonight between Juventus vs Tottenham Hotspur, so if anyone of you intend to propose, you know where to be liao.
Just note that heartthrob Cristiano Ronaldo would be there, so if your bae is his fan, you might want to reconsider.
