It has been a long 20 months since Malaysians working or studying in Singapore are able to return back to their homeland. Tomorrow (29 Nov), things are going to change for the time has finally come for them to return home by land but with more a new rule.
A New Rule is Set for Land VTL Due to Omicron Variant That’ll Start from 29 Nov
In view of the new COVID-19 strain, there are new rules imposed on the land vaccinated travel lane (VTL) that will start tomorrow (29 Nov).
Firstly, people who are are travelling from Malaysia to Singapore have to take an on-arrival antigen rapid test (ART) when they reach Singapore. These on-arrival ART will be administered at Woodlands Temporary Bus Interchange and Queen Street Terminal.

Initially, there’s no need for this additional test (but it’s needed if you’re heading to Malaysia, though).
Those two locations are also the two designated arrival points for those using the land VTL.
Of course, these tests are not free. The travellers will have to make an e-payment for the ART at the testing centres.
As usual, before they even reach the arrival points, these travellers must also test negative in a pre-departure polymerase chain reaction or a professionally administered ART 48 hours before they arrive on our little red dot.
Those bringing their children who are two years old and below do not need to be tested.
Singapore-Malaysia Land VTL
This land VTL is for long-term pass holders to go back home. The travellers have to be citizens, permanent residents or long-term pass holders of the country they are entering.
They also cannot save some moolahs and walk across the borders if they do not want to be stuck at home for seven days. They can only travel via the 64 daily designated VTL bus services. These bus services will run from 7.30pm to 9.30pm daily.
On the other hand, if they don’t mind being stuck in their home for seven days, they can choose to walk or drive.

About 2,880 people will be able to travel every day. That is 1,440 people in each direction.
The Singapore-Malaysia land VTL will launch tomorrow (29 Nov) at 8am.
